Groundwork Direct Ltd is a specialist groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering highways, public realm and infrastructure projects for local authorities, principal contractors and commercial clients.

As an Apprentice Groundworker you will work alongside experienced operatives, gaining practical experience while studying towards a recognised Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship. You will learn the skills required to become a fully qualified Groundworker, working on a wide variety of construction and civil engineering projects.

Typical Projects

You will assist with works including:

• Highway maintenance schemes.

• Footpath and cycleway construction.

• Public realm improvements.

• Park and recreation ground refurbishment.

• Drainage installation and repairs.

• Kerbing and edging works.

• Block paving and paving slab installation.

• Tarmac surfacing and reinstatements.

• Excavation and earthworks.

• Concrete foundations and slabs.

• Ducting and underground utility installations.

• Installation of street furniture including bollards, fencing and signs.

• Landscaping and finishing works following construction.
