OPEN TO ALL YEAR 10 AND YEAR 11 STUDENTS

Do you want to explore a career as a Nurse, Mental Health Nurse or Midwife? This one off academy session will give you an insight into these rewarding health and social care professions and help you understand what each career involves. You will learn about the key skills, qualities and responsibilities needed to work in these roles, while taking part in practical activities designed to give you a taste of the profession. The session is ideal for anyone considering a future career in healthcare and wanting to make an informed choice about their next steps.

During the session, you will explore the different career pathways available in nursing, mental health nursing and midwifery. You will develop an understanding of how healthcare professionals communicate effectively with patients, how to respond and manage situations during a crisis, and how to recognise signs and symptoms of conditions such as post-natal depression. Through interactive activities, you will gain an insight into the skills required in each profession, helping you identify which pathway may be right for you and giving you greater confidence when considering further study and a career in health and social care.
